Look what YOU did!

ERIEGIVINGNETWORKPRIZEDictionary.com gives us a definition for synergy:

The interaction of elements that when combined produce a total effect that is greater than the sum of the individual elements.

Over the last year or so, many of you have been a part of a synergy that has created a whole lot of “good” here in our community.  THANK YOU!

What did you do?

  • You donated a purse!
  • You bought a coupon book!
  • You attended one of our fundraiser events!
  • You bought raffle tickets at our Chix Makeover!
  • Your business donated products or services as prizes for the events!
  • You knitted or purchased a hat that we gave to a “kid with cancer” at LVHN!
  • Your business donated a portion of your sales to one of our charities!
  • You supported our fundraising events in any way, shape or form!

Your involvement has benefited the following causes/organizations:

  • Human trafficking
  • Pink Ribbon Fund at LVHN (breast cancer)
  • Scar Management Program at LVHN (scar support for burn survivors)
  • Emmaus Community Park’s Special Entertainment Commission (concert series)
  • Pediatric Oncology Unit at LVHN Muhlenberg (children in chemotherapy treatment)

And now, indirectly, you have also helped another fabulous charitable organization!   How?

Our past efforts were recognized by Erie Insurance Group, one of the companies I represent as an insurance agent.  The company has a culture of giving and “Living the Golden Rule.”   Each year, the company awards a cash prize to an agent who has demonstrated a commitment to “giving” within the community.  The check is made out to a charitable organization selected by the recipient agent.

At yesterday’s Erie Annual Recognition Meeting, I was surprised and delighted to receive the “Giving Agency of the Year” award.  Because we are planning an upcoming fundraiser with Animals In Distress (a no-kill shelter where I’ve volunteered) it seemed appropriate to use the $2,500 prize as a “kickoff” start for our soon to be announced “Purrfectly Pedigreed Purse Party.”  (We’ll be having a party where your donated new and gently used purses will be sold to raise money for this non-profit sanctuary for animals.   Stay tuned for details!)

Your support and participation in these past events are what put us “on the radar” to receive this recognition award.   The money will be well used by the shelter.  Above the many barks and meows of thanks, I shout mine out to you as well, THANK YOU!
