You might be gone one day…

Yep, a great title, isn’t  it?  But, it’s kinda wrong.  No “might” about it, you WILL be gone one day.

While it’s not something most of us want to talk about, it is one that begs for our attention.

Here at the agency, we think about it every time we counsel clients about securing life insurance.  Life insurance is one of those things that makes us think about death.  And, while it’s a stark reality for everyone, it is an area that rarely makes dinner conversation.

Today, a friend of mine presented a seminar on wills and planning.  While the attendees were mostly “insurance folk” like me, folks who are used to talking about life insurance and why we buy it, we realized we may not have all of our own stuff in order.

Logically, we all know we will die one day.  Whew!   There, said it out loud!  However, it is the “when” that becomes the big concern.  Will we be ready?  Will our affairs be in order?  We can’t control how and when it will happen.  But we can take steps to control what happens to our stuff when the time does come.

You’ve tried to do this before?  You’ve thought about it.  You have it in your head.  Not good enough!

Certainly, we can help you with the financial end, the life insurance.  We can craft affordable, simple policies.  They’ll provide funds to help your loved ones go on with as little disruption as possible.  We can also refer you to folks who do the other paperwork.  Consider a will, a living will and a power of attorney.

Everyone’s situation is different.  Start by taking stock of what you have and who gets it when you’re gone.  Then contact an attorney to put it on paper.

You’re gonna need it.  Not even a maybe about that.  The unknown part is when.   Sleep better, feel great when it’s done.  Start today.
